Home Décor Interiors has grown into a reputable design and renovation company, but where did it all start?
Strangely enough, we started out as a carpet company, selling and installing wall to wall carpets. We renovated a few small kitchens on the side and as our experience in the kitchen industry grew so did our reputation. We eventually decided to stop selling carpets and focus solely on kitchen installations as it was really taking off, and there is no better feeling than seeing a project come together. Handing over a well-executed job to a client, and seeing their joy is so rewarding. So today, we specialize in kitchen and bathroom renovations, and built-in-cupboards.
What have been some of your favorite projects to date?
Without a doubt, the apartment renovation of Olympic gold medalist Chad Le Clos was a highlight for us. We revamped every inch of his seaside apartment. The open-plan living and kitchen area hosts a beautiful Noble Grey Caesarstone island that has views of the city and sea – perfect for sundowners! There are so many colours to choose from the Caesarstone palette but Noble Grey has a subtle veining that complimented our use of natural stone, wood and metallic elements.
What is the most challenging thing about interior renovations?
It is always challenging finding a realistic budget for the desires and needs of prospective clients. We therefore try guide them in learning what areas need to be prioritized and which areas are worth investing in. For example, in the kitchen investing in countertops is much more important than spending on smaller finishes that can easily be replaced or adapted to new trends. For example, you can adapt your style and colour scheme in a kitchen that has versatile surfaces simply with fresh paint and new door handles, which are much easier to match than changing the countertop.
What guides the Home Décor Interiors brand values?
We are committed to always satisfying our clients needs based on their specific taste and personal style when renovating. Getting to know the client before we start is therefore crucial to us, to ensure we advise accordingly and meet their briefs accurately. To make sure we can offer them the best design solutions we are constantly keeping up to date with the changing trends and innovations in the design world, especially with countertop, tiling, paint and finishes available on the market. Our designers are skilled in having the ability to combine functionality and the latest trends.
