The challenge was to create a spare room that had any function other than a bedroom, and the outcomes were quite something. Take our tour through the 2017 Win a Home spare bedrooms…
With a bold pop of colour and texture on their feature wall, Team Visi created a sanctuary writing room and coffee corner. Stretching Plascon‘s Oceanus blue from the wall to the shelving unit and desk, the room had a modern aesthetic. To be enjoyed for even meditating and reading, the indoor plant offers an escaping tropical feel. A creative corner shelf and planter box were created using Caesarstone’s Montblanc, Rugged Concrete and Coastal Grey colours. The locally designed furniture and photography add to its home-style feel appeal.
Team House and Leisure
Described by the judges as ‘heavenly’, Team House and Leisure curated an exquisite space that included an office area and dressing area. Instilling a sense of luxury and indulgence, they used soft textures and colours to create a warm and welcoming space. Staged like a boutique, Vanilla Noir Caesarstone was used in creating a floating desk.
Stepping out of the safety zone, Team Habitat created a striking library, with energising colour combinations and decor. The room is rich with fabrics, textures, prints and literature. The central chandelier acts as an anchor from where the room takes its direction. Perfect for a quick escape and to get recharged, the library is carefully curated to have a calming effect.
