What a year it has been for the 2018 Win a Home design challenge! This year’s contestants are full of passion and have challenged designed norms fiercely! Here are the teams and a sneak peek into their spaces (which are covered in Caesarstone!) – who do you think will win!?

This years’ location is at the stunning Paardevlei Lifestyle Estate in Somerset West where our three dynamic Design Duos will be challenged to transform a white-box apartment into a masterpiece in just thirteen weeks! Let’s see the teams:
Kehumile & Nicholas

Having met at design college, Kehumile Mate and Nicholas Smit have always been eager to join creative forces. From Pretoria, Kehumile has worked as an interior designer at DHK for 2 years and has made his way to Cape Town determined to win. Nicholas Smit, who already lives in Cape Town Cape Town, quit a finance degree to pursue his career in interior design and spent 2 years working at ARRCC. Their combined presence and varied skill set make Nicholas and Kehumile formidable competitors. They believe in trusting processes, learning from others and maintaining their youthful inquisitiveness when expressing their creativity through design.
REKOPILE & KOKETSO

Rekopile Belebesi and Koketso Marole met at Design Joburg in 2018, only 3 months prior to being selected as a Design Duo. Koketso is originally from the small town of Bronkhurstspruit 50km east of Pretoria. Her design style is a combination of minimalism, vintage, industrial and contemporary. Hailing from the Eastern Cape, Rekopile’s passion for beautiful things lead her to launch a furniture design company; Belebesi Décor. Rekopile and Keketso’s narrative as a duo is quite simply the meeting of sophistication and minimalism, with an urban approach to design.
MELISSA & SINEAD

Melissa Oosthuizen and Sinead Turner met seven years ago when studying at Greenside Design Centre. Melissa is the founder of East Haus Interior Design and Custom Furniture. Inspired by the meeting of design and psychology, Melissa designs with sustainability at the forefront. Sinead comes from a background in corporate design, gaining hands-on experience in the industry by working on projects such as The Woman’s Jail at the Constitutional Court in Johannesburg. Inspired by how great design bridges the gap between functionality and beauty, Sinead’s life mission is to enhance built environments in order to uplift and promote sustainability.
JUDGING

Once again, each challenge is met with critical eyes from an esteemed panel of judges. This year we meet Bryan Courtney who is the Chief Marketing Officer at Private Property, Steve Brookes, the CEO & Executive Director at Balwin Properties and lastly Buhle Mathole who is the Company Director at Kabu Design Architects. Each week a special guest judge is introduced.
Win a Home is South Africa’s premier interior design reality TV competition. This year’s grand prize is a fully decorated penthouse apartment at Paardevlei Lifestyle Estate by Balwin Properties, valued at more than R3 Million.
